Plug the sign in and wait for its own Wi-Fi network, named JamCast- plus four characters. Join that network from your phone, choose your home Wi-Fi and enter its password on the setup page. The sign connects and shows a claim code. Sign in to app.jamcast.io, open Claim, and enter the code.
What are the steps?
- Power on the sign. Plug the sign into power. A sign that has never been set up starts its own Wi-Fi network named JamCast- followed by four characters, the last four of its network address.
- Join the sign's Wi-Fi. On your phone, open Wi-Fi settings and join the JamCast network. The sign's setup page, JamCast Setup, opens.
- Choose your home network. Pick your home Wi-Fi from the list (tap Refresh if it is missing), enter its password and tap Connect.
- Copy the claim code. When the sign connects, the setup page shows your claim code. Keep it handy.
- Claim the sign. Rejoin your home Wi-Fi, sign in at app.jamcast.io and open https://app.jamcast.io/claim. Enter the claim code. The sign appears in your dashboard.
- Give it something to show. Create a playlist, add apps, then add a schedule on the sign to choose when the playlist runs.
What do I need before I start?
The sign and its power supply, a phone, the name and password of a Wi-Fi network with internet access, and a JamCast account. You can create an account at app.jamcast.io/register.
What if my home network is not in the list?
Tap Refresh on the setup page to scan again. Move the sign closer to your router if the network still does not appear, then try again.
What if the setup page does not open on its own?
Stay joined to the JamCast network and open a browser on your phone. Visit 192.168.4.1, the address the sign uses for its setup page.
What happens after the sign is claimed?
The sign shows up in your dashboard with its name, status and settings. From there you can rename it, set its brightness and scroll speed, and give it schedules. The sign checks for new playlists every minute, so changes reach the wall quickly.
